Using a grain as the salad's focus and adding the publican lots of flavors with citrus, parsley, olive oil, and other super fresh ingredients, the publican she can satisfy your hunger without adding any unwanted calories. I am a big fan of the two salads she's going to make on the show, one featuring french lentils and the other quinoa.
Hy-Vee's Catering manager Dennis Lopp is a sucker for sweets. To satisfy that urge, but keep it healthy, Dennis is going to grill up some fruit. On Dennis' menu are grilled watermelon and onion salad and fresh peaches grilled and paired the publican with bacon two ways-pork and turkey. There's definitely some skill involved with cooking fruit right on the grill. The first and most important principle is your fruit needs to be tasty at the start. No amount of perfect grill marks can make up for a lack of flavor. Satisfy that basic requirement, then pay attention to Dennis, and after the show you'll amaze your guests with unexpected flavor combinations.
